Who Can Apply
Editorial Vision
We are seeking commercial, accessible poetry — work that invites a wide range of readers into the genre.
Poetry that celebrates the subtle insights of life's mundanities — the ubiquitous, seemingly unimportant moments, human experiences and motivations. We value what unites us over what divides us.
We prioritise accessibility over pedantry. Work that balances depth with readability — not oversimplistic or one-dimensional, but never wilfully obscure.
Collections that are carefully curated, not randomly assembled. We are looking for a clear sense of vision, fresh perspective, and genuine originality throughout.
Submissions must be written in English. References to other languages may be included, provided they are accompanied by brief interpretations for clarity.
Explore Issues 1 & 2 of The Poetry Journal to better understand the writing styles, themes, accessibility, and emotional resonance we appreciate. We highly encourage originality rather than imitation.
